What should I wear?

It’s a good idea to wear athletic clothing that will give you a full range of motion, essentially what you would normally wear for a physical activity. Shorter shorts are not ideal if you are going to be wearing a harness when climbing as they will not protect your thighs from rubbing against the harness (this can be very painful!).
For sanitary reasons, we do not allow street shoes on any of the climbing walls. If you do not have your own climbing shoes, we have rentals available!

What is bouldering?

Bouldering is a form of ropeless climbing that generally extends up to about 15 feet in the indoor setting. When you fall you drop onto what is called a crash pad, which is a large memory foam surface to comfortably absorb the impact. Our gym uses the best pads in the industry, BigAssPads™, which uses cutting edge technology which surpasses industry standards for safe and aesthetic bouldering.

What is top rope?

Top rope is a style of climbing in which the climber is secured to a rope which then passes up, through an anchor system at the top of the climb, and back down for a belayer at the base of the climb. The belayer takes up slack in the rope throughout the climb, so that if at any point the climber were to lose their hold, they would not fall more than a short distance.

Is there a time limit?

There is not! Your day pass is good for when you come in and up until closing time. You can even leave and come back again later the same day if you would like!

I pay for a regular gym membership.  What benefits does climbing offer me beyond my traditional gym?

Climbing is totally different than a traditional gym. Instead of lifting weights and targeting specific muscle groups, you move and engage your whole body. Not only are you challenging your strength and endurance, but you’re also tapping into your problem solving skills since no two routes are alike. In short, climbing is a full-body sport that can be as challenging for the mind as it is for the body.

Do you offer group rates?

Absolutely! follow this link for all our information on our group options.

Do I need to fill out a waiver even if I’m not climbing?

Yes! Everyone in the gym, regardless of their participation or age is required to have a waiver on file. This can be done online via this link or at the facility. If you are bringing children that you are not legally responsible for, please have their parent or legal guardian fill out the waiver ahead of time. Waivers must be filled out by an adult and not by a minor!

Are there any age restrictions?

No! We’ve had as young as 14 months on the wall and as old as 78. It all depends on the climbers capabilities and spatial awareness. So the only limitation is the climber themselves.

Is there stuff for my kids?

Of course! Our Party Room is geared towards the younger ones and those that are still growing. Feel free to follow this link and scroll down to the section pertaining to our Party Room to check it out!
There are climbs accessible to all skill levels scattered throughout the rest of the gym as well.

Is there a youth team?

That there is! We have our youth competitive team which you can check out via this link, and our youth recreational team which you can check out via this link.

Is climbing safe?

According to Reuters, a German study found that indoor rock climbing is safer than badminton, surfing, and contact sports. However, climbing can be dangerous if performed carelessly and/or without proper training.

Can I drop my kids off?

Any individual under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian present in the building. Those 10 and under must be parent/guardian supervised at all times and are not permitted to run around on their own or operate equipment such as autobelays on their own!
